With demand for tech sector jobs on the rise, BCIC Tech Works helps B.C.-based tech firms access top talent while giving students valuable work experience and exposure to B.C.’s growing technology sector. BCIC Tech Works includes the BC Tech Co-op Grants Program and the BCIC Innovator Skills Initiative.
Through the BC Tech Co-op Grants Program, small tech firms are eligible to receive $2,700 to help cover the cost of hiring a co-op student over a four-month term.
- Companies must be established in B.C. and have 99 employees or less on payroll. Companies must be established in B.C. and have 99 employees or less on payroll.
- Eligible companies are tech firms, non-profit organizations in the technology sector, and non-tech companies hiring for tech roles.
- If a company has hired a co-op student in the last 5 years, grants are limited to a first term co-op student.
Companies gain access to enthusiastic and innovative talent at an affordable cost, the opportunity to train students to meet specific needs and vet co-op placements for potential future hiring.
